| Days of Creation |
We see in this passage that God created a layer of water above the earth. And, we can learn that God separated the "waters above" (the heavens) from the "waters below" (that surrounds the earth).

I love how God created day and night (day 1) BEFORE He created sun, moon, and stars (Day 4). We cannot even comprehend what day and night look like without sun, moon, and stars! God's immeasurable, incomprehensible, inscrutable wisdom is beyond our capacity to understand. When we think of Day, we think of sunrise to sunset. When we think of night, we think of moon and stars. Psalm 147:4 (NASB) even tells us that God names each one of them. "He counts the number of the stars;
ReplyDeleteHe gives names to all of them." But here in Genesis we see that God created Day and Night BEFORE sun, moon and stars. So there is a whole lot about the universe that we do not, can not comprehend. "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!"Romans 11:33 NASB
