DR Trip 2015 | Part 3: Casita and Camp David

In today's blog post, we'll interact with the kids at the orphanage and do a little sightseeing in the city of Santiago. The fun has just begun!

 

When Dad took this picture, John Newlin (in the blue shirt) said, "Say Queso!" Instead of "Say Cheese!" And I couldn't help but burst out laughing!! 

Then, John starts calling his 12-year-old son Reece, Rico, 

as if that was the correct Spanish translation of the English word "Reece!"

On Monday, June 22, 2015, we got to tour the city of Santiago!

After a bumpy, 40-minute drive in a bus, we hopped out of the bus

and were stunned by this beautiful view

of the city at a place called Camp David! 

Not only does Camp David have a beautiful view, 

but it also has a fancy dine-in-only restaurant,

where we ate supper on Monday night.
